Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: July 1, 2017
RESPONSIBILITIES: This administrative position champions integrated marketing and institutional branding at the University and in outside markets.
This position works closely with the Office of the President and is a direct report to the Vice President for Advancement and Public Services. The Administrative Clerk in the Office of the Vice President for Advancement and Public Services is a dual report to the Director of University Marketing and to the Administrative Aide in the Office of the Vice President for Advancement and Public Services. Serving both the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses, this position is responsible for integrated and digital marketing and institutional branding for Western Illinois University. In addition to branding and overseeing the University's message and campaigns, the director oversees and enforces the University's trademarks, logos, and licensing programs.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree and/or professional experience commensurate with an advanced degree from a regionally accredited degree granting institution of higher education required. The successful candidate must articulate a clear vision and understanding of integrated marketing and branding in a higher education environment; have a minimum of three years of professional experience in private or public sector marketing, demonstrated ability to foster an environment of collegiality; understanding of applicable technology and knowledge of traditional and digital marketing strategies; demonstrate a working knowledge and competence of digital marketing platforms and social networks, as well as experience interpreting marketing analytics; effective oral and written communication skills; and comprehensive knowledge of and experience in market research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred industry and/or higher education marketing experience.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).

WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 8,943): A traditional, residential four-year campus with select graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).
WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,430): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL (population 44,000). The Quad Cities (population 376,000) rests on the banks of the Mississippi River and is comprised of Moline and Rock Island in western Illinois and Davenport and Bettendorf in eastern Iowa. Moline, Illinois is home to the Quad Cities International Airport.
