Position Description:

Proficiency in using graphic software products as well as ability to learn other software and database programs, i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat

Job Description Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director, Contracts, Procurement and Hazardous Materials Compliance provides printing and duplicating services using high speed copying machine/s and related equipment; processes, sorts and deliver incoming and outgoing mail for the District; performs other related duties when assigned.

Perform a variety of clerical duties involving typing, filing and maintaining records or reports in support of a special program or District function.
Learn and apply laws, rules, regulations involved in assigned clerical activities.
Add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Type at 45 words net per minute from clear copy.
Operate a variety of office equipment including computer, calculator, copier and typewriter. Operate a computer terminal to enter data, maintain records and generate reports.

Maintain records and prepare reports.
Answer telephones and greet the public courteously.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Work cooperatively with others.

Essential Duties:
Process and complete requests for printing and duplicating services for district employees;
Receive, sort and distribute incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail for both campuses;
Receive, process and distribute mail and packages delivered through various courier providers such as DHL, FedEx, UPS and USPS in a timely manner;
Weigh, meter and determine appropriate postage for outgoing mail;
Determine appropriate methods for mailing and distributing materials.
Set-up, assign and maintain mailboxes for employees and departments;
Checks student correspondence drop box as needed and file contents in appropriate faculty box in mailroom.
Operate a variety of high-speed copy machines and peripheral equipment to produce handouts, forms, letters, flyers, booklets, reports and other materials
Check duplication requests for complete instructions and promptly contacts requestor if more information and/or clarification is required.
Screen all submitted requests to ensure numerical correctness.
Determine job priorities and schedule work in accordance with established timelines.
Program and/or format scanner, copier, and printer in accordance with instructions provided by the requestor;
Review and validate completed jobs for accuracy and completeness;
Stock paper, dry ink, staple wire and fuser agent as required;
Handle and dispose hazardous materials used in the printing and mailroom in accordance with District procedures;
Troubleshoot minor issues with machines and equipment such as clearing jams, replacing toner, wiping scanning bed, etc.
Coordinate with outside vendors for the maintenance of equipment in the printing/mailroom as necessary;
Maintains records and prepares periodic reports as requested.

OTHER DUTIES:
Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of experience working with industrial printers and other similar equipment and/or related to the duties and responsibilities of the class.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
