As Procurement supervisor, manage and coordinate the travel, procurement functions, facilities, and equipment repair and maintenance orders for 3 academic departments (Biochemistry, Microbiology & Plant Pathology, Nematology) and 2 research centers (Center for Conservation Biology & Citrus Clonal Protection Program). Ensure compliance with appropriate business policies, guidelines and procedures. Conduct research to obtain best sources, from contract and non-contract vendors, ensuring best price, quality, availability and delivery combination possible. Inform and educate members of the unit about purchasing resources and constraints. Prepare or supervise the preparation of approximately 6,000 purchasing transactions annually, maintaining accurate records and timely submissions to allow for prompt vendor payments. Responsible for maintaining large equipment inventory and the coordination of annual physical inventories. Responsible for evaluating and procuring all equipment for administrative purposes. Supervise two Administrative Assistants who will assist with purchasing, travel and entertainment reimbursements, printing and other administrative duties for the BMPN Unit.

Supervisory skills required to lead purchasing group in department ensuring adherence to purchasing practices and guidelines.
Knowledge of procurement policies, the organization's departments and operations, and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
Full knowledge of the purchasing function.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills required in interacting with both internal and external resources.
Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the cost effectiveness of purchasing options.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, work on multiple projects and complete assignments on time.
