Provides leadership, supervision, and management of the Student Development events, activities and programs on the assigned campus. Manages and is accountable for a campus-based Student Activity Fee budget less than $125,000.

Salary Range: $44,389 - $49,938 per year
Essential Job Functions:
1. Leads campus-based Student Development/activities program, to include implementation and assessment of assigned campus student activities/events, and the supervision of Student Development professional and student staff.
2. Coordinates campus programs and services in support of the departmental Core Values (Communication, Community Involvement, Education, Leadership, and Personal Engagement.
3. Plans, develops and implements a program of services and activities which will influence mental, physical, emotional, social, spiritual, occupational and environmental development.
4. Collaborates with campus faculty to implement services and programs which support the instructional program, and varying co-curricular interests around campus.
5. Plans, develops, and implements programs designed to identify and develop potential leadership skills of the students.
6. Provides leadership, technical assistance, and services designed to assist student organizations in serving the mental, physical, emotional, social, spiritual, occupational and environmental needs of their members and the campus student body in general.
7. Advises the campus Student government Association and coordinates the activities of the group.
8. Initiates, plans and makes recommendations concerning the improvement of the campus environment, including but not limited to facilities, student comfort, student safety, grounds, and signage.
9. Manages budgets that are associated with the campus Office of Student Development.
10. Administers a campus publicity system to ensure widespread dissemination of information regarding campus co-curricular programs and services.
11. Assists with the formation and conduct of focus groups and other strategies to obtain student opinion and input on college issues and the student experience at Valencia.
12. Works cooperatively and collaboratively to ensure college-wide coordination of the Student Development program, and provides leadership for college-wide initiatives as needed and assigned.
13. Serves as a member on the Student Development College-wide Leadership Team.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Required Field of Study:
Education, psychology, health/wellness, or similarly related field.

Preferred Education & Field of Study:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, psychology, health/wellness, or similarly related field.
Preferred Type of Experience:
Experience in student development related activities at the collegiate level.
Experience in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive calendar of events, activities and learning opportunities.
Budget management experience.

General Working Conditions:
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus.
