Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM; this position works 10 months per year in a 10/12 pay plan. The months off are July and January.

About the Position:
The Student Health and Counseling Center strives to support students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Nurse Practitioner provides quality primary medical care to all students in a clinic setting. Duties include examining and treating general medical conditions, diagnose and refer to appropriate sources for follow-up care, provides general reproductive health care and sexual health consultations. The Nurse Practitioner also provides health education and wellness to students. Serves on various health care committees, both internally and on-campus, as directed. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
Three years of progressively responsible experience as a registered nurse. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in nursing may be substituted for up to two years of experience. Comprehensive knowledge of advanced nursing care principles, methods and procedures. Ability to work independently in assigned specialized area according to broad guidelines and practices established by a physician. Ability to conduct diagnostic examinations and to treat both chronic and episodic disorders. Ability to assess patient needs and recommend next steps. Ability to observe and record unique symptoms and behaviors. Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Family PACT. Experience in a primary care setting. Experience in an emergency room setting. Prior electronic EMR experience. Prior experience in a college health setting.
