Job Summary
Duties: Teach applied private instruction at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels in tuba and euphonium; mentor and advise tuba and euphonium students; hold weekly studio classes; coach chamber music; other departmental needs as required. The appointee will be expected to: demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and innovation; recruit and retain diverse students of high caliber; maintain a visible national and international profile as a performer and teacher. The appointee will also be expected to: participate in faculty governance; attend faculty meetings; serve on faculty and University committees as appropriate. It is expected that the appointee perform on campus in solo and chamber music repertory with faculty colleagues.

Required Qualifications*
Required: Graduate degree in tuba and euphonium performance or equivalent professional experience; sustained and distinguished professional record in solo, chamber music and orchestral performance; commitment to nurturing a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences, as demonstrated through pedagogy, service, and activities; demonstrated expertise and experience in teaching by having presented master classes, maintained private studios, and/or served as a faculty member at institution(s) of higher learning; evidence of the ability to recruit and maintain a successful tuba and euphonium studio.

Preferred: DMA degree.
