Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) – Neurobiology/Biology

The Department of Biology seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Neurobiology to begin in the fall of 2018. The candidate is expected to teach courses in general biology, neurobiology, behavioral biology, anatomy and physiology, and animal physiology.The candidate must establish a research program and actively involve undergraduates in research.The candidate is expected to be involved in our joint Neuroscience and Behavior program with the Psychology Department and should be able to teach its interdisciplinary capstone seminar.In addition, the candidate should be willing to teach interdisciplinary courses in the Honors and General Education (PLAN) programs.For further information about the biology department at Simmons and research interests of its faculty, please see http://www.simmons.edu/academics/undergraduate-programs/biology

Requirements:
Candidates should have a PhD and expertise in neurobiology and physiology, post-doctoral experience, and a commitment to excellence in teaching.The college also values 1) engagement in diversity and inclusion issues and 2) interdisciplinary collaboration.
