Assistant Professor of Social Psychology, Tenure Track

The Department of Psychology in the College of Natural, Behavioral, and Health Science invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Psychology to begin July 2019.

We seek an innovative educator and scholar with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, creative curriculum development, an active research agenda, and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration inside and outside the University. As a University committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, we seek candidates with a demonstrated ability to work with students across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives.

The primary area of expertise is open, but should complement existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses including: Social Psychology, Research in Social Psychology (with its laboratory), Research Methods (with its laboratory), Introduction to Psychological Science, and other courses in the candidate's area of interest. We welcome applications from candidates whose work and research address issues of social justice, social identity, and diversity.

Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, advising and mentoring students, developing and maintaining a strong record of research and scholarly productivity, participation in curriculum development and service on departmental, college and university committees as appropriate.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology completed or expected to be completed by August 2019; previous experience as an independent instructor at the undergraduate level; demonstrated evidence of scholarly productivity, and an active program of research that can involve undergraduate students.
