Salary
Salary Range: commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week
Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Function: This position will assist the Head Coach in all phases of the Women's Volleyball program, including coaching current team members, recruiting quality student-athletes on a national and international level, and administrative duties as assigned.

Scope: To serve as a coach and mentor to student-athletes in the sport of Women's Volleyball. UTSA coaches are expected to use proper judgement in the position at all times, follow all UTSA and NCAA rules and regulations, complete tasks in a timely manner, and represent the University, its athletic department, and the UTSA Women's Volleyball team in a professional and positive manner.

Typical:
  1. Assist with on-court coaching, game preparations, and scouting of opponents.
  2. Monitor student-athlete academic progress
  3. Assist head coach in recruiting prospects as assigned by head volleyball coach.
  4. Make in-person evaluation
  5. Host on-campus recruiting visits as assigned
  6. Make presentations to local and national groups promoting UTSA and UTSA volleyball.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned

Periodic:

1. Represent UTSA at Conference USA and national meetings.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in any field of study.
  • Three years volleyball experience as a college, professional or international player or coach.
  • Ability to travel extensively using personal or rental vehicles to perform essential functions of the job. Travel will be primarily in Texas.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Good assessment and communication skills to recruit and represent UTSA.
  • Knowledge of NCAA, Conference USA, and UTSA rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Five years volleyball experience as a college, professional or international player or coach.
  • Knowledge of Conference USA or The American Athletic Conference and UTSA rules and regulations

Working Conditions
  • Physical activity in the sport of volleyball, weekend and evening hours and required travel.
