Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Senior Associate Director for Application Evaluation, Processing, and Selection, the Associate Director of Admission for Transfer Enrollment will be responsible for transfer application evaluation, transfer credit policy enforcement and process management for all advanced secondary school and college credit, and the strategic development of the transfer enrollment funnel.
The Associate Director will collaborate with admissions leadership to direct the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate application evaluation process for Fall and Spring transfer students, and will collaborate with other managers and Admissions Leadership advocate for transfer student interests to be represented in recruitment and yield strategies.
The Associate Director will manage the credit evaluation process for all enrolling students, will collaborate with the N.U.in Program to facilitate class credit review and transferability, and will be part of cross-campus coordination with the Registrar and faculty advisors to maintain the Transfer Equivalencies Database both in content and procedure. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with colleagues on the enrollment and credit transfer for undergraduate students through special entry programs.
This position includes the supervision of Assistant Directors and is responsible for their training, mentoring, and development. The incumbent will be engaged in long-term planning and evaluation, as well as resource assessment and management. The Associate Director serves on the office management team and assists in developing and implementing office policies and procedures. The position serves on campus-wide committees and represents the University to prospective students, families and secondary school counselors. The position also actively contributes to the office welfare by working collaboratively with managers in unit to achieve institutional enrollment goals.
This position will work closely with other University offices and programs, as well as with appropriate off-campus agencies and services relevant to this position. The Associate Director will conduct the role with the highest degree of professionalism, ensuring that the Northeastern brand and image are accurately conveyed. Some evening and weekend hours required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, masters preferred, and five to seven years of direct experience in college admission, specifically with a strong background in selective, holistic application evaluation.
Must be highly organized and detail oriented, with an aptitude for data driven decisions and project management.
Experience to also include the counseling of students, and the evaluation of student credentials.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, excellent communication and presentation skills, and supervisory abilities required.
