Associate Payroll Manager

Responsibilities:

The Associate Payroll Manager oversees and manages the timely, accurate, efficient, and effective processing of all payrolls; oversees and implements all payroll processing and the prompt resolution of payroll issues; collaborates with HR Operations and colleges/divisions to continuously improve payroll related transactions; collaborates with others to implement improvements in business processes while creating efficiencies and eliminating redundancies; ensures payroll documentation is current and up to date to reflect all operating and training procedures; supervises payroll staff and provides day to day guidance and direction; reviews staff performance and provides development plans to ensure goals and objectives; implements training and cross training for payroll staff; serves on project teams related to system improvements and changes; develops, tests, and implements business continuity plans for payroll; ensures the timely reporting of all payroll data to external organizations; oversees all tax filings; oversees and implements payroll audits to provide compliance with all regulatory agencies; ensures the timely tax filings for all nonresident aliens.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree with 4 6 years of payroll experience; experience with international payrolls strongly preferred; knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required; Certified Payroll Professional required; minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience; in-depth knowledge of HR & Payroll systems, experience with Banner HR a plus; experience with Banner, PeopleSoft, Oracle, ADP, Windstsar Tax Navigator or SAP Payroll systems strongly preferred; experience with third party payroll and tax vendors including global payrolls strongly preferred; experience in process improvement and streamlining processes; strong management and supervisory skills including an ability to deploy resources appropriately to meet payroll deadlines and requirements; strong business analysis and project management skills strongly preferred;
strong communication skills required and ability to interact with customers; promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality.
