Position: Chair of Social Medicine, Population and Public Health Full Professor Tenured

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine is seeking to hire tenured faculty member in Social Medicine, Population and Public Health at the rank of Full Professor for the position of Chair of Social Medicine, Population and Public Health Department in the Division of Clinical Sciences. We seek to hire a leader in the field of health disparities, community-based participatory research, population health, or other areas related to social sciences and social determinants of health. The UCR School of Medicine is a community-based medical school with a mission of serving the medically underserved region of Inland Southern California. The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or Ph.D. degree. The successful candidate should demonstrate notable scientific contributions, evidenced by high quality peer reviewed publications and a stellar record of sustained extramural funding. The candidate's research interest should focus on health disparities, community-based participatory research, population and public health, or areas related to social sciences and social determinants of health. The candidate should also have methodological experience with community partnered and mixed methods research. The successful candidate will also be expected to show a strong commitment to the education of medical students and residents. Finally, the candidate must demonstrate appropriate administrative experience and a proven record of academic, and administrative leadership qualities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, academic planning, budget, personnel, resource allocation and program development for Department of Social Medicine, Population and Public Health in the School of Medicine. The candidate will be expected to engage in research and seek extramural funding, and will also play a prominent role in active engagement with the community. This position will also provide leadership and direction in meeting the mission of the School of Medicine. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
