About the Opportunity:
The Communications Specialist will be covering a 4-month maternity leave for a staff member on the communications team in the Northeastern University College of Professional Studies.

Responsibilities:
Projects include writing and editing news stories for the faculty newsletter and website, creating editions of the faculty newsletter in Constant Contact and dissemination, editing and workflow management of faculty biographies on the college website, management of the college's social media channels including writing and posting content and interacting with audiences, and managing the college's photo files. In addition, the Communications Specialist will track the communications team budget, request purchase orders, process invoices and track expenditures, and support the Director of Communications in writing, editing, and communications project management. Other major college projects may include supporting the Director of Communications in creating the scripts and printed programs for the 2020 graduation ceremonies; and working on the 2020 alumni newsletter. Flexibility, problem-solving, resourcefulness and a strong interest in higher education communications needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of communications experience required.
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office suite and professional social media management

Additional Information:


35/hours per week. Candidates must be available from late October through early March.
