The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at California State University, Fullerton, invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2018. Position
We are seeking faculty candidates who have a strong ongoing commitment and demonstrated potential to conduct high-quality research, obtain external grants and publish in top journals. The candidates are also expected to have strong instructional skills and to be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. Ideally, the candidates will be dynamic, collaborative, collegial, and willing to contribute to the missions of the Department, College and University.
The Department's faculty members conduct high-quality research and publish in leading decision science outlets such as the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Operations Research and Management Science. They also regularly teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, serve on academic committees and contribute to Department, College and University governance.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have completed all requirements for a doctorate in Statistics, Management Science, Business Analytics or a related field in business, economics or information systems by August 15, 2018
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
- Demonstrated potential to be an effective teacher of graduate and undergraduate courses based on the department's needs
- Evidence of potential to publish in top journals in their discipline and to acquire external funding; and
- Ability to collaborate with the existing group of faculty and interact effectively with a culturally diverse population of students and colleagues.
- A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position at California State University (CSU). Rank and Salary
The position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track; salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Research grants and additional teaching in summer, moving expenses, start-up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available. The Department
The Department consists of a diverse group of faculty with specialties in areas of Management Information Systems, Business Statistics and Management Science. We offer three concentrations: Information Systems, Business Analytics and Decision Sciences. We teach in the undergraduate business and MBA programs as well as in two specialized Master's degree programs. The Department currently offers a core course in each of these three areas, each of which is required by all business majors. The Department has received national and international recognition through faculty publications, presentations, and editorial activities. The Association for Information Systems (AIS) recently ranked our college 57th in the USA and 3rd in California in IS research productivity in top journals. As of 2017, our online MS in Information Technology program is ranked 12 th in the USA and 2nd in California by U.S. News & World Report.
