Position Summary
University of the Incarnate Word is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach-Defensive Coordinator. This is a full time, 12-month position. The defensive coordinator will serve in all phases of a competitive football program in accordance with University of the Incarnate Word, Southland Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under University of the Incarnate Word's Sexual Misconduct Policy with reporting responsibilities as set out in the policy.

Description of Job Duties
Duties include: identifying, evaluating and recruiting student-athletes. Will also be responsible for the personal development of student-athletes academically and athletically. Managing and evaluating the defensive football staff. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must exhibit good judgment in advising and counseling student-athletes. Be able to identify and participate in resolution of departmental/institutional problems with continuous quality improvement as a goal.
Enhance team effectiveness through dependability.
Must follow the Mission of the University.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Bachelors degree.

Required Work Experience
Three years of coaching experience at the University level.
