Position Information:
Reporting directly to the sr. director for gift planning and working closely with the director of gift planning, the development coordinator for gift planning occupies a crucial role in the gift planning team by directly supporting frontline fundraising activity through the development and implementation of a comprehensive social marketing, communications, and donor relations plan and through the provision of critical infrastructural aid to the program. These functions set the stage for frontline fundraising activity by ensuring data integrity, discovering new prospect leads, serving our donors through gift planning education, initiating and/or maintaining a personalized connection with donors through creative and regular mass communication, and stewarding current legacy society donors through exclusive society communications, society branded gifts, personalized attention and other donor relations efforts. The Development Coordinator will support the development office by overseeing day to day operations including; managing timelines and calendars, providing administrative support to the office, providing telephone and office coverage, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and other development business processes.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Minimum of 2 years of related experience.

2 years of comparable marketing, public relations, project management or communications experience.

Working knowledge of the campus and/or medical center, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and/or medical center and with external constituencies.
Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Skill to maintain confidentiality.
Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations and public relations concepts, principles, procedures and techniques.
Working knowledge of the location, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
Skills in maintaining confidentiality.
Good written and interpersonal commu nication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.


Preferred Qualifications:
Computer proficient and able to use a variety of software in a Windows environment, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments. Provide proficient follow-up, and make effective timely decisions despite tight deadlines and competing projects.

Experience using Raisers Edge, a donor management program.

Experience using Adobe creative suite, especially InDesign and Illustrator.

Basic graphic design, HTML, and copywriting skills.
