Director, Veterans Services

The Director for Veterans Services has managerial responsibility for the development, planning and implementation of comprehensive services and programs that support the success of military-connected students. Leads collaborative initiatives with internal and external stakeholders, advocates for students, educates the campus community on best practices for supporting academic and career advancement, promotes holistic student development, and facilitates student engagement opportunities which positively impact a sense of belonging within the CSUSM community. Provides leadership by proactively responding to and facilitating campus conversations around campus climate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferences
i. Master's Degree
ii. Work experience in a higher education academic setting.
iii. Experience in managing Veterans Administration certification and military benefits.
iv. Demonstrated commitment and ability to advance the University's goals in the areas of diversity and inclusive excellence.
v. Demonstrated ability to acquire philanthropic funds to support Veterans Services

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected. This position is an Administrator II in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
