Position Summary:
This position reports to Information Technology Services (ITS) and is a key component in two teams: ITS Development and Integration and University Advancement. The primary responsibilities are to maintain and enhance the Ellucian CRM Advance application and ensure its continued integration to a wide range of other institutional systems. To accomplish these responsibilities, the team member will have to work closely with University Advancement to understand business processes and successfully implement them in the system. They will also follow ITS development standards and provide backup to other ITS developers in the development and integration services for a wide range of university applications. This position will develop a deep understanding of Advancement and the CRM Advance system, will gain a broad range of knowledge and skills in other university systems and development environments and will serve as a key part of the customer service-focused ITS organization.


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Design or related field; OR
Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Design or related field plus 2 years professional experience; OR equivalent combination of related education/experience totaling 4 years.
Two years writing software in programming languages for Web application development such as JavaScript, Visual Basic, .NET, C#, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or equivalent. This could include course work while pursuing a degree.
Experience using and programming databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL-Server and MySQL.


Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of experience performing similar tasks or an equivalent combination of research experience and education.
Experience working with application-based security models and software development techniques to prevent software security issues such as SQL injection.
Demonstrated knowledge of: programming techniques; system analysis and design; software products; computer system concepts; database management; statistical methods used to evaluate data; capabilities of computer systems; and database design and procedures.
Ability to write clear and concise documentation including requirements specifications, design documents, user manuals, test plans and email. This could include course work or anecdotal evidence.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Familiarity with standards and protocols such as ISO-9000, SSH, LDAP, FTP, HTTP.
Training in Agile development methodology and SCRUM.
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification highly desirable.
Formal project management training or experience.
Experience in Ellucian Banner environment.
Experience with UNIX/LINUX operating systems.
Working knowledge of XML and/or JSON concepts.
