Position Summary:
The Associate Extension educator will provide instruction and support in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) health and nutrition and food safety educational programs in Bonneville County and the Eastern District.
Outreach and Extension:

Provide programs in FCS health and nutrition and food safety areas. Develop research-based educational programs that meet clientele needs. Programs will be delivered through classes, workshops, demonstrations, and other methods as appropriate. Promote UI Extension programs with clientele, elected officials, and other community partners through newsletters, websites, press releases, radio and television, and social media. Collaborate with appropriate state, district, and county faculty and participate in the University of Idaho Extension FCS program planning teams. Report impact of programming efforts through impact statements. Report programming efforts using CALSPlan.
University Service and Leadership:

Serve on University, CALS, Extension, district and community committees, boards and working groups as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in field of study related to Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition, or a closely related discipline (the required degree must be completed by the date of hire).

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide instruction, support, marketing and promotion for programs.

Ability to organize and work well with individuals and in teams, including problem-solving and decision-making.

Competence in using technology for program delivery, record keeping and reporting, and team- based communications.

Must be willing and able to travel and to participate in evening and weekend programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience in Extension education or demonstrated ability and skill in family and consumer sciences programming (relevant experience acquired within the last 5 years preferred).

Demonstrated skills in organization and management.

Demonstrated drive and initiative; proven ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels and backgrounds.

Ability to communicate in Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
