Position Summary:
The IT Analyst is the primary technology resource for the Boise Idaho Water Center and surrounding University of Idaho offices. On a day to day basis, this person will ensure that Audio Visual and Video Conferencing equipment operates so that classes run smoothly. They will also provide technical support for faculty, staff and students for PC hardware, software, printing, telephone, and networking issues. They will be the primary support for technology infrastructure for the building, such as wiring, networks, wireless, phones, etc.

On a project basis, they will need to be able to design, install and configure mission critical technical systems and infrastructure. This includes phones, laptop PC's, tablets, servers, building wiring, electronic signage, classroom audio/visual equipment, and video conference units. They also need to provide the Boise Center administration with technical advice on technology purchases and policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant technical discipline OR Associate Degree in Information Technology and/or experience totaling four years. Equivalent experience can be considered in place of degrees.

a. Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware and software.
b. Experience working with cloud based computing software and storage.
c. Experience solving unique, challenging technical problems independently.
d. Experience performing data back-up and recovery
e. Experience locating the appropriate learning resources to gain a working knowledge of computer networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity processes

Preferred Qualifications:
A+ certification or equivalent knowledge and/or experience with PC hardware.

a. Knowledge and/or experience with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS operating systems.
b. Ability to install and configure systems and troubleshoot user problems.
c. Knowledge and/or experience with selection, installation, configuration, troubleshooting of printers and scanners, both local and on the network.
d. Knowledge and/or experience with basic networking, including wiring, wireless networking equipment, network switches, network routers, firewalls, ACLs and network security.
e. Knowledge and/or experience with building security and digital key systems.
f. Knowledge and/or experience with server installation and administration, such as Windows Server, Linux and VmWare.
g. Basic scripting experience. Knowledge of languages such as visual basic, Powershell and Widows batch scripting.
h. Ability to write hardware programming or scripts for AV or VC equipment, network equipment, etc.
i. Experience operating and troubleshooting audio visual (AV) and video conferencing (VC) systems. Ability to design, specify, purchase, install and configure classroom AV and VC systems.
j. Certifications from industry recognized sources are a plus.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders, bend, squat, crawl, and navigate confined spaces under desks and behind equipment.
Travel swiftly, ordinarily on foot, to area of campus where service is required.
