Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Experiential Network, the Manager of Employer Relations will be responsible for managing, facilitating, and recruiting company sponsorships in support and service of the Experiential Network authentic learning program. The core mission of the Experiential Network is to provide both domestic and international working professionals and students with opportunities to incorporate short term, academically relevant work experiences into their course of study in order to reinforce academic theory with practical application. This manager will focus primarily on assisting academic programs and campuses in meeting student needs for experiential learning through the recruitment, management, and cultivation of a rapidly increasing pool of company sponsorships to meet the growing demand for experiential learning opportunities in adult, working professional, and continuing education programs at Northeastern University. He/she is responsible for the following.

  • Working in collaboration with the senior director and other directors responsible for experiential partnerships, establish, develop, nurture, and sustain relationships with company partners that facilitate sponsorship of exceptional, best-fit authentic work opportunities for students participating in an array of experiential learning opportunities including but not limited to co-op, internships, and XN projects. He/she articulates and promotes the unique potential of Northeastern University students and facilitates outstanding co-op and internship employers and project sponsor services/experiences that distinguish Northeastern University's Experiential Network program in relation to other institutions.
  • Develop and implement company sponsorship recruiting plans, identify and strategize recruiting priorities based on the evolving needs of academic programs and students participating in experiential learning, work with recruiters to identify potential partners and close leads for experiential opportunities, and identify and prioritize strategic activities around company engagement to expand and manage an ever-increasing pool of potential sponsorships and academically relevant authentic experiences.
  • Establish and draw upon strategic relationships with partner companies, alumni, faculty, institutional partners and colleagues, and external partners through outreach, community engagement, and other means to ensure that authentic projects are current, timely, and incorporate a rich variety of distinctive opportunities for students..
  • Provide monitoring and reporting by tracking sponsor and client interactions using online database(s) to maintain records in accordance with relevant policies and develop other tracking/measuring resources as needed to support, sustain, and scale the program.
  • Coordinate and lead events and activities that support recruitment, management, and sustainability of a robust and growing pool of company sponsorships to provide high quality, relevant experiential learning opportunities through authentic work projects and other opportunities.
  • Develop and execute effective communication plans in support of strategic goals for experiential learning.
  • Assess and understand company needs and identify methods companies use to connect with potential candidates and determine ways to use that knowledge to support relevant partnerships.
  • Establish best practices, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with fair and equitable recruiting and selection standards for company sponsors and partners.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred along with 3-4 years of professional work experience in employer/company relationships, managing, recruiting or equivalent. Experience working with diverse constituents (i.e. various employers, disciplines, students, faculty and administration). Work effectively with people of varying cultures and diversity. Experience teaching, advising in career development or experiential learning a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, database programs and data management and analysis. Excellent skills in relationship building, event planning, marketing, public relations and data base management preferred. This position requires an individual who is goal oriented, possesses excellent presentation skills, is effective in building partnerships, extremely organized, professional and has a high level of customer service. This position is based in Boston, MA, but may require some travel per month to graduate campuses to support students and cultivate employer sponsorship of authentic experiential learning opportunities.
