Job Description

Under the direction of the Foundation Executive Director, and working closely with CSN Finance, Financial Aid, CSN webmaster and auditors, Manager, Philanthropic Operations and Finance Operations is responsible for leading Foundation financial operations, donor base management as well as donor impact reporting and scholarship. This role will support best in class donor/prospect/alumni/scholarship recipient engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. This position allows the CSN Foundation to:
  • Prepare accurate and engaging reports to donors on the impact of their gift.
  • Maintain a donor/alumni/scholarship recipient database and dashboards that allows the Foundation staff to proactively engage and record community relationship building and track work with donors, alumni, scholarship recipients, board members, CSN faculty and staff.
  • Track and report on Foundation income and expenses; scholarship distribution, alumni engagement, donor acknowledgement and funds raised.
  • Maintain Workday processes to insure excellent collaboration with CSN Finance and Financial Aid.
  • Prepare for annual audit and CSN Foundation annual impact report.
  • Create, document and iterate processes for best result and efficiency.
  • Engage CSN student workers in our work; provide them with mentorship; and support them in their education success.
  • Work as a team to proactively raise funds that support student scholarship, faculty excellence, CSN programs in and out of the classroom.


This position must have the knowledge and experience in the application of NSHE, federal and state regulations governing nonprofit organizations as well as best practices in nonprofit financial reporting and donor stewardship.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Management or Finance from a regionally accredited college/university, five years of related professional experience, three years of strong experience with using Excel and three years of related supervisory experience OR or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of demonstrated experience in developing strategy and implementation tactics associated with nonprofit management and budget/financial management.
  • Three years of experience using Workday, willingness to learn and ability to understand new systems quickly.
  • Two years of demonstrated knowledge of endowments, restricted giving, reviewing and managing investment reports as well as professional interaction with financial professionals and Board committees.
  • Two years of experience managing online donor relationship software such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce and accounting using QuickBooks in addition to other technology that insures the Foundation operations and records are maintained efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience and knowledge of NSHE, federal and state regulations governing philanthropy, open meeting laws and nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with staff, peers, faculty, vendors, administrators and students.
  • Skill in managing multiple projects, prioritizing and organizing work, delegation as well as supervising, setting expectations and training new and experienced staff.
  • Ability to understand, support and report on the financial and philanthropic needs of CSN to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in person, by phone and in writing.
