OPERATING SYSTEMS ANALYST (Operating Systems Analyst-Career)

Primary Duties:
Working relatively independently, the Operating Systems Analyst is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of Operating Systems such as Windows and Linux servers. The position is also responsible for server maintenance, disk storage systems, backup and restore activities, cloud technologies, and Enterprise Systems related technical and customer support for the campus.

Required Education:

Requires the equivalent to a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or a related field,
AND
Two years experience in technology-related customer support services and service request tracking systems.
OR
Six years of full-time, relevant experience in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field.

Special Requirements:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office and data center to access server and storage equipment. Occasionally ascends/decends a ladder to service computer hardware. Constantly operate a computer and related office machinery and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to travel across campus to other offices and buildings on and off campus for meetings and events.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position requires frequent to constant interaction with team members and university staff and faculty for consultation or to provide technical support and assistance. Frequent travel between campus offices for meetings is required. Occasional travel off campus for training is also required.
