The Unique Assets of Wagner and its Presidency:
The opportunity to lead at Wagner begins with its extraordinary location in New York City and on Staten Island. The breathtaking and inspiring views from Grymes Hill on Staten Island are unmatched in American higher education as are the opportunities for living and learning in a safe, park-like setting that is part of the most vibrant city and metropolitan area in the United States.

There is at Wagner a profound passion for the educational mission of the institution that is held in trust by an exceptionally committed and engaged board, faculty, and staff. Their love of Wagner and its students is palpable. The faculty of Wagner are selfless and are marked by an unusual sense of the cooperative nature of the academic work they share and a congenial sense of espirit de corps among faculty, staff, and students. These are the essential ingredients of an outstanding community, which is fully focused around the preparation of its students for consequential lives as citizens and leaders. Combined with innovative academic programs, a strong tradition of co-curricular learning and NCAA Division I athletics, the foundation is strong for Wagner moving forward. These are the unique assets of Wagner that make the presidency a great opportunity for a special leader. The 19th president of Wagner College will receive the leadership baton from President Richard Guarasci, who has provided exceptional leadership at the institution since 1997, having served as president since 2002.

Qualifications: The 19th president of Wagner College must possess an earned doctorate, a comparable terminal degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and an established record of successful institutional leadership.

Leadership and Personal Qualities: The next president of Wagner will become part of an organization that has transformed itself during the course of the past 25 years and will be expected to build upon this foundation during the course of the coming decade and beyond. The next president will also be:
A visionary leader of demonstrated accomplishment who can fully engage the faculty and staff in articulating and shaping the educational vision for Wagner;
