Basic Function:
This position will involve the study of the relationships between processing and the structure and mechanical properties of metallic materials produced by cold spray and additive manufacturing processes.

Prior experience in microstructural characterization and the experimental study of mechanical properties (strength, fracture and fatigue) is needed along with exposure to the modeling of relationships between processing, structure and mechanical variables, and their effects on mechanical properties. A strong background in physical/mechanical metallurgy is needed in addition to some prior exposure to fracture mechanics and microstructure property relationships.
