Work Schedule per Day: Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, this is an exempt classified professional expert assignment requiring some weekend, holiday, and non-conventional working hours in addition to the regular working hours of a collegial environment.

Benefits: The District provides a fully-paid, comprehensive program of fringe benefits including major medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees and eligible dependents. Life insurance provided for employee only. Also, currently included each year are 17 paid holidays

At the beginning of each academic year, all professional expert, short-term, substitute, and student employees with an assignment which will exceed 30 days will be provided with three days (24 hours) of paid sick leave. This paid sick leave is available to be used for an illness of the professional expert, short-term, substitute, and student employee or his/her family member and/or for leave due to domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking. A professional expert, short-term, substitute, and student employee shall be entitled to use such sick leave as of the 90th day of employment. The three days (24 hours) of paid sick leave do not accumulate.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the TRiO director, the STEM TRiO senior facilitator will oversee daily activities of the TRiO project; schedule/oversee TRiO math/science tutors; provide support to other TRiO personnel; conference with TRiO students; maintain records for reporting; and, other duties related to grant requirements.

NOTICE: A Professional Expert, as authorized by Education Code 88003, is neither a part of the classified service, the academic employee group, nor a management position. This assignment is temporary and terminable at any time without cause at the sole discretion of the District, and does not lead to a permanent status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily activities of the TRiO project.
  • Schedules/Oversees TRiO math/science tutors.
  • Provides support to other TRiO personnel.
  • Conferences with TRiO students.
  • Maintains auditable records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the District's support services.
  • Working knowledge of the District's policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of TRiO goals, objectives and regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic budgeting practices and financial recordkeeping.
  • Ability to schedule, support and provide guidance to other grant personnel.
  • Requires the ability to maintain accurate records, file and maintain filing systems, maintain confidentiality of private and/or sensitive student information.
  • Requires a working knowledge of personal computer-based software programs including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics, and special applications used by the organization unit.
  • Ability to enter and extract data and reports from student information systems.

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree earned from an accredited institution.
  • One year of coordination experience reasonably related to this assignment.
  • Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding, of, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of a master's degree earned from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge and experience with case management or community college counseling.
  • Prior grant coordination experience.

    About Citrus College:
    Celebrating over 100 years of service, Citrus College is located in Glendora in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, approximately twenty-five miles northeast of metropolitan Los Angeles. The college has the distinction of being the oldest community college in Los Angeles County and the fifth oldest in the state.
