Position Summary
The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) educates aspiring physicians to be justice-minded, global citizens using a community-based, distributed model of education, which fosters inclusion, discovery, and innovation. The UIWSOM invites applications for Site Coordinator.
The Site Coordinator works collaboratively with and supports the Clerkship and Site Directors in the implementation of undergraduate osteopathic medical education in Phase II of the medical school curriculum at a designated site. There will be a variety of sites across the state of Texas, including San Antonio, and the Coordinator may be hired to cover a specific territory.
Primary responsibilities include developing and providing support solutions for learners, staff, and teaching facilitators (faculty). In addition, the Site Coordinator must possess a commitment to quality and service with a demonstrated history of creating reports, strong administrative and project management skills, as this position may involve some medical staff credentialing duties. This position will report to the Director of Clinical Rotations. This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time staff as needed.

Description of Job Duties
1. Serve as primary point of contact for Phase II curriculum stakeholders at a designated site.
2. Ensure the timely completion of learner and facilitator evaluations
3. Maintain unit data in the UIWSOM learning management system, to include session scheduling, rosters, assessments, procedure logs, case logs, and evaluations
4. Provide academic progress reports to the UIWSOM Student Promotions Committee
5. Serve as the primary administrative support during site meetings including taking notes during meetings, coordinating the meetings, and other support tasks as needed
6. Maintain professional knowledge and skills by reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks
7. Meet deadlines and perform other related duties as necessary or as assigned


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellence in written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team and flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances
Commitment to the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of curricular design at UIWSOM
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Required Education
Bachelors degree or 5-7 years relevant experience in medical administration

Required Work Experience


Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of professional experience in higher education
Familiarity with principles and practices of Osteopathic Medicine
Familiarity with medical staff credentialing pro
Proficient with learning management systems (e.g. eMedley, Blackboard), database management and procedures

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Must hold a valid drivers license and have a driving history acceptable to the University insurance carrier

Work Hours
Typically Monday Friday work week. Hours can range from 8 hours per week to 20 hours per week, depending upon site location.

Physical Demands
This job may require lifting objects not to exceed 25 lbs.; crouching, crawling, standing and sedentary work in an office and multiple learning environments
