Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under general direction of the Assistant Vice Provost for Distance Learning, the Web & Compliance Specialist is responsible for the support of online course technologies, maintenance, and quality assurance effort within the Division, to include maintenance of website content. Provides assistance and support to the Instructional Design Team. Receives general instructions and guidance in an open and collegial manner and exercises good judgment. This position will reports to the Director of Distance Learning.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are included in the following areas:
  • Provide LMS (Blackboard) support to faculty and students.
  • Maintain course integrity for each part of term.
  • Perform quality assurance checks each term.
  • Production management of LU Online websites.
  • Coordinate the enrollment of Instructional Associates each part of term.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Requires Associates Degree or equivalent
    2-3 years demonstrated technology skills and ability (Preferred: LMS including Blackboard, online presentation development, graphical layout, digital audio and video, and HTML coding and editing.).

    PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
    Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
    Thorough attention to detail, project management and organizational skills.
    Knowledge of computer applications for publishing, image handling, and/or web production, digital audio and video editing, HTML coding and editing.
    Knowledge and use of LMS functionality, reporting, and course management.
    Knowledge and use of collaboration software (chat, desktop sharing, conferencing).
    Knowledge of Web 2.0 tools: i.e. Adobe Connect, Skype, etc.
    Strong ability to learn new software quickly and apply it to learning situations.
    Demonstrate ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Bachelors Degree
