Essential Functions:
The University Program Manager (UPM) will provide daily oversight of the operations of THE BRITE's Golden LEAF Foundation Grant (Grant) and North Carolina Central University-Biomanufacturing Research Institute & Technology Enterprise (BRITE) program: BRITE Building Internship Opportunities for Rural North Carolina (The Program) and primarily report to the Principal Investigator (Pl) on the Golden LEAF Foundation Grant. The PM will actively work with the BRITE Academic Advisors/Recruiters to recruit students to participate in summer internship opportunities {The Program). The PM will actively work with the BRITE Director of Development to recruit biotechnology companies in rural NC (tier 1 and 2 counties). (This will include travel to eastern and western NC counties.) These companies will then host NCCU students for summer internships.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The candidate must possess the ability to plan and support the development of others using a competency-based system. Knowledge of skills and abilities required to fulfill current or future job/role responsibilities effectively. The candidate must also be able to provide guidance and feedback to help an employee or groups of employees strengthen their knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish a task or solve a problem, which in turn should improve job performance.
Must hold the ability to present information to individuals or groups; the ability to deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience. Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message. Ability to listens and respond appropriately to others. Ability to provide advice and counsel. Ability to understand client programs, organization, and culture.
