Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Housing Services manages the on-campus housing process for approximately 3,400 undergraduate residents. Directs the application, acceptance and approval process for off-campus exceptions and exercises significant decision-making authority over policies and processes related to key distribution, room inventories, damage assessment, and general communication with the residential and off-campus population.

The position is a full-time, 12-month, staff exempt (salary) live-in appointment.

In addition to the competitive salary, the offer will include:
1. A partially furnished apartment.
2. A taxable moving allowance, 3% of salary (if applicable).

Job Duties:
Reporting Relationships/ Direct Reports:
  • Reporting to the Director of Housing Services, the Associate Director serves on a team within the Division of Student Affairs as a member of the Housing & Residential Education team.
  • The Associate Director will supervise the Housing & Residential Education Coordinator.

Work Setting:
  • This position is on campus, student facing. This is a live-in appointment.

What You Will Do:
  • Customer Service and Commitment to Student Development: Direct and manage daily housing assignment operations for all residential areas, including traditional, suite, apartment, and special interest communities. Participate in regular departmental and university meetings and events, respond to student concerns, and serve in the professional on-call rotation, and Supervise, train, and evaluate professional staff within Housing and Residential Education.
  • Systems Management: Manage housing software systems and processes related to room assignments, billing, and occupancy tracking. Develop and maintain system architecture for applications, learning communities, and reporting functions. Analyze housing data for forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning in collaboration with department leadership. Coordinate housing logistics and operations during academic breaks, including inspections and transitions.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Coordinate housing assignments for special interest groups in partnership with other university departments. Work with campus partners to support students returning from leave or transferring into housing. Collaborate with Residential Education to uphold housing policies and manage operational needs such as keys and chargebacks.
  • Communications and Responsiveness: Acts as primary lead on communication efforts for housing transitions, including opening, closing, and break periods. Provide guidance to students and offices regarding housing departures, key returns, and vacancy notifications. Serve as a primary point of contact for student and family inquiries via phone and email.

What You Will Bring:
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Four years (post graduate) experience


Preferred, but not required:
  • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education Administration or related degree
  • Two years experience post master's experience
  • Familiarity with StarRez Software or other housing solution products

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an office setting, with or without accommodations, to include: sitting, standing, moving about the office and campus.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
