THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Administrative Program Support 1 supports the third- and fourth-year medical students, physician assistant students, clerkship directors, and the Associate Clerkship Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Knoxville. The position is responsible for the daily support of 6-8 M3 students, 4 M4 students and physician assistants per rotation block.


Responsibilities
  1. Serves as the departmental contact and support for medical students completing third- and fourth-year clerkships.
  2. Schedules orientation, lectures, midterm evaluations, presentations, and Clerkship Director meetings.
  3. Reviews case and time logs for UTHSC students in eMedley.
  4. Matches and enters third- and fourth-year student evaluations with residents and faculty in eMedley.
  5. Gathers third- and fourth-year student evaluations and submits supporting materials for grades to UTHSC or corresponding medical school for visiting students.
  6. Maintains all files and records for students that rotate through department.
  7. Coordinates with the UT Center for Advanced Medical Simulation to schedule classes for students.
  8. Assists Department Manager with departmental special functions and events.
  9. Produces orientation materials and maintain website for the program.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of office experience in higher education; OR a Bachelor's Degree in lieu of experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a diverse group of professionals and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be organized and flexible to changing demands and tasks.
  • Knowledge of computer software i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and computer skills
  • Ability to learn department, campus and clerkship specific software.

WORK SCHEDULE: May occasionally work evenings. May occasionally require overnight travel.
