Job Description
The Director of Housing Administration is a key member of the University Housing senior leadership team. This role focuses on managing department-wide projects and administrative tasks in conjunction with the Executive Director of University Housing. The director works closely with various internal and external stakeholders, gathering information to help make decisions, and ensuring multiple projects run smoothly. The Director of Housing Administration also oversees the department's customer service and outreach, helping to ensure that the department can effectively communicate its story.
This role involves developing and implementing Technological plans to enhance operational efficiency and improve the residential experience for students. The Director collaborates with other departments to align housing initiatives with the university's overall goals and objectives. This position also plays a crucial role in budget management, resource allocation, and policy development to support housing operations.
The Director of Housing Administration conducts regular assessments to identify areas for improvement and implements the best practices to enhance service delivery. environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction, support, and supervision for all activities associated with contracts and assignments; departmental marketing, branding, and outreach; information technology; and camps and conferences.
- Monitors housing applications and assignment data to determine accuracy of projected occupancy
- Supervises and evaluates reporting staff
- Participate in departmental policy formulation and updating published policy statements.
- Serves on departmental, division, and university-wide committees
- Investigates and responds to concerns and complaints of students, families, and University administrators
- Serves as liaison to prospective students, families, and academic units regarding special housing accommodations and needs
- Assists in planning the departmental budget with other members of the senior management team
- Conducts statistical analysis of residence hall space utilization
- Produce periodic market analysis of the off-campus housing market
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in student Affairs, Education, Statistics, or Social Sciences, or related.
Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in a full-time or equivalent part-time employment capacity required. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and experience successfully coordinating projects with team members not directly under your supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Skilled in training and supervising staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with StarRez housing software
- Experience presenting information to stakeholders
- Experience working with on campus student housing
- Experience with student housing occupancy management
- Experience with assessment, including survey design, analysis, and reporting, as well as familiarity with statistical methods, data management and data analysis packages (SPSS, SAS, etc.)
- Experience with customer service and communication
- Experience with IT
Work Location
Onsite position located in Knoxville, TN.
