AnnualA. POSITION PURPOSE


With minimal supervision, provide technical and functional support, training and documentation for all administrative offices using ERP reporting tools.


B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support for ERP and Lakehouse reporting tools
  • Provide functional support for ERP and Lakehouse reporting tools
  • Provide infrastructure support for ERP and Lakehouse reporting
  • Provide training and documentation for ERP and Lakehouse reporting tools



C. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


Provide Technical Support for ERP and Lakehouse reporting tools


Manage security

  • Conduct periodic review of existing setups
  • Create and test new security roles and permission lists to meet needs
  • Resolve end user access and security issues as reported through the IT Service Center
  • Work with the CISO to security policies such as timeouts, password configuration and training


Support reporting needs

  • Teach power users how to write their own reports
  • Troubleshoot complex private queries and reports
  • Streamline and promote common menu-driven reports
  • Design, build, and maintain custom reports, dashboards and analytics for end-users in various offices.
  • Design, build, and maintain Prism data sources and custom Prism reports.
  • Access legacy data via SQL
  • Create views in Lakehouse.



Conduct change management and new function integration and testing

  • Monitor new updates and releases and determine impact
  • Conduct initial testing prior to user testing



Manage primary troubleshooting of application and data issues and/or errors

  • Triage incoming user error reports
  • Identify and help resolve issues related to data and setups
  • Replicate and document reported problem
  • Report problems to vendor as necessary
  • Document and report problems to IT Developers with any possible causes and solutions
  • Use system tools to identify source of problem



Provide support for upgrades and projects

  • Perform Fit/Gap analysis
  • Assist with the development of test plans and scripts
  • Coordinate and manage end user upgrade testing



2. Provide Functional Support for ERP and Lakehouse reporting tools


Evaluate functional procedures and work with end users to identify and implement enhancements

  • Review current business practices
  • Manage requests and translate business requirements to functional specifications working in close collaboration with the Technical Team and business users.
  • Investigate and prototype new reporting functionality



Assist user community with functional responsibilities

  • Coordinate batch processes among end user offices
  • Provide support to power users with functional questions and issues



3. Provide Infrastructure Support for ERP and Lakehouse Reporting


A. Design, develop, and implement high-performance, scalable, and secure APIs for real-time and batch data ingestion into the lakehouse.

  • Work with various data sources, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis), SaaS applications, and third-party APIs.
  • Ensure APIs adhere to RESTful principles and organizational standards for security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and optimize data ingestion processes, including data validation, transformation, and loading into lakehouse formats
  • Implement robust error handling, retry mechanisms, monitoring, and logging for all ingestion APIs.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to define data schemas, partitioning strategies, and storage optimizations within the lakehouse.
  • Partner with source system owners to understand data structures, access methods, and ingestion requirements.
  • Work closely with data architects to ensure API designs align with the overall data strategy and lakehouse architecture.
  • Collaborate with data consumers (e.g., data scientists, analysts) to understand their data needs and ensure data availability.
  • Optimize API performance for high throughput and low latency, particularly for streaming data ingestion.
  • Implement scalable solutions that can handle growing data volumes and diverse data types.
  • Conduct performance testing and tuning to identify and resolve bottlenecks.



B. Install and maintain infrastructure to support Open MetaData framework

  • Integrate Open Metadata with existing data sources, data processing tools, and enterprise systems
  • Configure metadata ingestion pipelines from various sources (databases, files, streaming data, APIs).
  • Monitor the health, performance, and stability of the Open Metadata platform.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including upgrades, patching, and backups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to metadata ingestion, search, and platform functionality.
  • Optimize platform performance and scalability to accommodate growing data volumes and user needs.



C. Collaborate with data architects, data stewards, and data owners to define and implement metadata standards, policies, and governance rules.

  • Ensure data quality and consistency within the metadata catalog.
  • Develop and implement processes for metadata lifecycle management.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage.



4. Provide Training and Documentation for ERP and Lakehouse Reporting

  • Provide one-on-one training with power users, enabling them to train others in their functional areas
  • Work with internal and external teams on best practices and determine standards.
  • Ensure and enforce adherence to reporting standards, and assist with moving reports to production
  • Maintain internal documentation for business and technical processes



5. Other Duties as Assigned

  • Learn new skills through vendor learning platforms.
  • Attend Workday Rising and other professional conferences
  • Special projects, as assigned



D. QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.


1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of BI platforms such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Advanced knowledge of ETL scripting and data modeling concepts.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced Windows and MS Office skills
  • Advanced knowledge of open source database tools such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of other technical tools such as Application Designer, FTP, SQR, Application Engine, Data Mover, and COBOL
  • Extensive knowledge of Python, Java, Javascript
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis tools and techniques



2. Education

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.



3. Experience

  • 7-8 years experience systems support or other technology related experience
  • 5+ years of BI and data warehousing experience
