Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral Fellow to join the Wang Lab in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The Wang Lab is R01 funded. The appointment will be for a two to three-year period. The applicant will be strongly supported in their pursuit of both academic and industry careers. The research will focus on a project at the intersection of RNA biology, cancer biology, and virology. Experience in molecular biology, data analysis, and tissue culture is required.

The Wang laboratory is currently studying
  • The role of endogenous and viral derived circular RNAs in the pathogenesis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (focus of position)
  • Glucose transport and metabolism and its role in melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Tissue culture (including work with lentiviruses)
  • Molecular biology (including work with DNA, RNA, and proteins)
  • Experiments with archived human tissues (IHC, ISH)
  • Transfection or knockdown/knockout of genes, generation of stable clones.
  • Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Summarize data for a weekly discussions, lab meetings, departmental meetings, and national/international conference



Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:



Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Graduated from an accredited college/university with a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Virology, or relevant program.
  • Direct experience with molecular biology
  • Data Analysis
  • Tissue Culture



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 high quality papers
  • The ability to work independently within the research lab
  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored Work Visa assistance.

  • Knowledge of federal regulations
  • Willingness to work in teams
  • Excellence in writing, reading, and communicating
  • Ability to independently execute research protocols

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$62,232 - $75,564

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
