About the Opportunity

Job Summary

The Davidi Lab at Northeastern University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented postdoctoral researcher to support cutting-edge research on stress adaptation in extremophilic microalgae. Our lab investigates molecular and cellular mechanisms evolved by extremophile Dunaliella species, using a multidisciplinary approach that integrates genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, molecular biology, and synthetic biology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret multi-omics data to identify stress adaptation targets.
  • Design and execute molecular biology and protein biochemistry experiments.
  • Apply techniques such as:
  • DNA/RNA purification, PCR, qPCR, molecular cloning
  • Protein expression, purification, Western blotting
  • CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing
  • RNAseq and proteomics analysis
  • Organize, process, and report experimental data.
  • Present findings in lab meetings and contribute to manuscript and report writing.
  • Collaborate across functions and mentor junior lab members as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Plant Sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular biology and protein biochemistry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex datasets.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Research experience with microalgae or plants.
  • Expertise in protein purification, biochemical assay development, and CRISPR/Cas9 systems.
  • Experience with RNAseq and proteomics data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
  • Strong written English skills, demonstrated through prior research publications.

Expected Hiring Range:
$59,425.00 - $83,935.00
