Job Summary
The Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) will support the provision of course shells (development, primary, section) shells within the learning management system (LMS). This activity with be documented per established practices to maintain accurate listings. They will maintain LMS templates, and all the content embedded within the templates. The ITS will collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Management to create student orientation shells, enroll students, and update the online syllabus as needed. They will maintain the Learning Object Repository (LOR) and the content shared from within it. Generating reports from the Data Hub as needed will be ITS responsibility. All these duties will be under the direction of the ITC.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
PROVISION OF SHELLS WITHIN THE LMS:
- Create development shells.
- Create primary course shells.
- Create and maintain LMS html template pages.
- Maintain accurate records of shells created.
- Collaborate with IT to have mass course content transfer completed on time.
- Ensure course start dates are updated each term.
- Ensure each instructor has updated Simple Syllabus for each course.
QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
- QA checks
- Using the internal QA scorecard, review new and existing courses and provide detailed feedback
- Check one work to ensure it is accurate.
- Test hyperlinks in each primary course each semester.
- Updates
- Transfer existing courses into new course model.
- Make changes in courses necessitated by changes in the educational technologies used by AUO
TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
- Faculty - Respond to requests for assistance submitted through the AUO Help Center.
- Student - Respond to requests for assistance submitted through the AUO Help Center.
Update BrightSpace how-to videos. - AUO Team - Support AU Online team members in the use of AUO educational technologies.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with experience using a learning management system and Office 365.

- Experience with D2L Brightspace
- Responding request for technical assistance to include problem solving
- Experience with a ticketing system
- Knowledge of VoiceThread, Hypothesis, Yellow dig, Canva, H5P, and accessibility checkers
- Demonstrates ability to complete tasks with accuracy and thoroughness. Strong organizational skills with a focus on precision and quality of work.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B8
Salary: Minimum $45,400/annual - Midpoint:$56,700/annual
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
