University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic, student-centered health clinic. As a key member of the UHCS team, you will:
- Deliver preventive care and manage acute and chronic conditions in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Engage directly with students through face-to-face visits and campus wellness activities, helping to educate and empower them to take charge of their health.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to team-based care, and serve as a trusted resource for nurses and medical assistants.

Position Details:
- Full-time (35 hours/week) with flexibility for a 4-day or 5-day schedule.
- Includes one evening per week, one Saturday per month (10 AM-2 PM), and a rotating holiday schedule.
- Additional shifts may be available.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certificate of Registration as a Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. For Physician Assistant, a bachelor's degree and graduation from Physician Assistant training program certified by the Board of Registration of Physician Assistants and passing of the certifying examination of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. For Nurse Practitioners, applicants with independent prescriptive authority preferred
- Massachusetts and Federal DEA certificates are required
- Prior experience in primary care, particularly in student health, is highly desirable
- Previous triage experience for acute medical issues in a college health setting is preferred
- Prior experience in gender affirming care, pregnancy options and medication abortion is preferred
- Experience in STI and contraceptive management is required. Additional experience with Nexplanon and IUD insertion is preferred
- Demonstrated success in working inclusively in a highly diverse student setting preferred.
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm in the mission of providing for the prevention, management and treatment of the medical needs of Northeastern University students both individually and community-wide
- Demonstrated promptness in reporting and documentation, excellent organizational skills, ability to work with confidential and time sensitive information and materials, excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive teamwork environment
- Facility with consulting and providing supervision and education to clinical colleagues as well as community clinicians, University staff and faculty, student organizations and partner institutions
Direct and Indirect clinical responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations, develop individualized care plans, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and perform clinical procedures such as blood draws and injections.
- Prescribe medications and initiate appropriate treatments, including inhalation therapy and other therapeutic interventions.
- Provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, including STI testing, treatment, and counseling.
- Deliver contraceptive counseling and management, ensuring patients are informed about available options.
- Perform procedures such as Nexplanon insertion and removal, and IUD placement and removal (preferred).
- Accurately and promptly document all clinical encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere to established clinical protocols and consult with the supervising physician as needed.
- Provide clear medical guidance and education to students during each visit to ensure understanding of their condition and treatment plan.
- Coordinate care by consulting with specialists or external providers regarding student health information and treatment recommendations.
- Refer students to emergency services or specialty care when clinically appropriate.
- Collaborate with campus departments and actively participate in wellness initiatives, including tabling events and student engagement activities both in-person and virtually.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects and interdisciplinary workgroups alongside other medical providers.
- Maintain a commitment to lifelong learning and deliver evidence-based care to all students.

Expected Hiring Range:
$97,550.00 - $141,443.75
With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
