Job Description Summary
The University of Pennsylvania is leading the development of a large, multi-stakeholder clinical research platform project designed to advance therapeutic development for individuals with LRRK2-associated Parkinson's disease (LRRK2-PD Platform Trial). The Penn Neurogenetics Therapy Center (PNTC) is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Project Manager (CRPM) to support the overall governance, coordination, and operational execution of the LRRK2-PD Platform Trial. The CRPM will ensure effective communication across internal and external partners, support platform infrastructure development, maintain program timelines and milestones, maintain project documentation, and oversee key operational activities throughout the planning and implementation phases. The CRPM will work with teams across Penn, external academic partners, stakeholders, industry collaborators, platform working groups, and clinical trial sites. The CRMP will support the Platform Principal Investigator and report to the PNTC Director of Operations.
Job Description
CLINICAL RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGER B: (1) Coordinating cross-functional activities for platform planning, study start-up, recruitment readiness, and operational workflows across Penn and external partners. (2) Supporting governance structures by preparing meeting agendas, tracking action items, documenting decisions, and maintaining program files. (3) Assisting with timeline management by monitoring milestones, deliverables, and inter-dependencies. (4) Contributing to the development and maintenance of protocols, informed consent documents, manuals, training materials, source documents, SOPs, and DSMB/Governance charters. (5) Assisting with regulatory submissions and ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements. (6) Supporting pre-award/post-award financial processes, contract timelines, invoicing and billing review. (7) Serving as operational contact for internal and external partners, supporting communications, assisting with QA/QC and problem-solving. (8) Training and supervising research staff. The CRPM B performs these responsibilities with guidance and growing independence.
CLINICAL RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGER C: The CRPM C carries all responsibilities of CRPM B with expanded leadership and autonomy. Additional expectations include: (1) Leading strategic components of platform governance and cross-partner operational alignment. (2) Overseeing complex, multi-site workstreams and ensuring harmonized platform processes. (3) Driving development of platform-level infrastructure. (4) Providing higher-level mentorship and leadership to project staff and partner teams. (5) Identifying operational risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- B level: Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree and 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- C level: Bachelor's Degree with 7-10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree and 5-7 years of experience preferred.
PREFERRED: Must be highly organized with strong prioritization and time-management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team. Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple competing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience with industry, multi-site clinical trials, platform trials, or complex investigator-initiated studies. Experience in neurology, movement disorder or PD trials, or rare disease research.
