Job Summary
As the University of Colorado Boulder embarks on an exciting and new internationalization effort, it is looking to add an Associate Director to its International Admissions Team.
Reporting to the Director of International Admissions in the Office of Admissions, the associate director serves as an internally facing leader responsible for managing day-to-day functions on the International Admissions Team. The associate director serves as a thought-partner to the director and participates in the development and administration of policies and procedures; the management of full-time, seasonal, and student staff; the coordination of programs and activities; and the recruitment, processing, and review of international applicants to the university.
The associate director holds a leadership role on International Admissions, a team of 12 other full-time employees responsible for recruiting and advising first-year, transfer, and graduate applicants; converting international transcripts and credentials; processing more than 10,000 applications each year; issuing initial immigration documents; and working with partners to welcome matriculating international students to the campus community.
In their supervisory role, the associate director coordinates activities between the undergraduate operations and recruitment units and is responsible for collaborating on designing, implementing, and evaluating team-wide procedures and manuals. To this end, the associate director is a hands-on supervisor who assists with the tasks and demands of team members and ensures best practices are followed. The associate director also works with graduate admissions teams on recruitment and communication efforts.
In addition to being a leader on the International Admissions Team, the associate director participates in Senior Leadership, an office-wide group that coordinates functions and policies set by the Assistant Vice Chancellor and the office's three directors.
