This position provides senior advisory and subject-matter expertise to the Colorado Space Policy Center (CSPC) at the University of Colorado Boulder. The position exists to connect CSPC's research, educational activities, and policy outputs with the operational needs and perspectives of the U.S. Space Force, the Intelligence Community, NASA, and commercial space entities.

The Colorado Space Policy Center (CSPC) is a versatile research and engagement center at the University of Colorado Boulder, dedicated to advancing thoughtful and prospective space policy conversations within the current political and economic climate. CSPC serves as a forum for expert dialogue, rigorous analysis of current and emerging policies, and education on these policies that shape space activities ranging from a wide variety of applications.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Key responsibilities include advising CSPC leadership on strategic alignment of the Center's research and policy agenda with priority issues for military, intelligence, civil, and commercial space stakeholders, and identifying high-impact topics where CSPC can provide thought leadership. The position facilitates relationships between CSPC and key organizations and individuals in the Space Force, NRO, NASA, industry, and other relevant communities. It also supports the development and review of policy frameworks, white papers, and other products, ensuring recommendations are grounded in real-world technical, operational, and acquisition realities.
The role provides guidance on CSPC's educational programs by recommending curriculum content that reflects advances in space science and technology, the evolving role of government in space, commercial space growth, global entrants, and civil-military interactions. The position may deliver guest lectures, seminars, or workshops and helps design and shape CSPC-hosted workshops, roundtables, and conferences, including advising on agendas, themes, and participants. As a senior advisor, the position contributes to CSPC's long-term strategic positioning within the broader space policy ecosystem and to building sustained relationships with government, commercial, and international partners.
What We Can Offer
This position shall be for a term February 2026, through December 31, 2028, with work performed remotely and/or on-site at CU Boulder as mutually agreed. The University responsible for conference fees and travel expenses. Salary will be $100 an hour, averaging 10 hours a week or 40 hours a month.
