The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will lead the counseling team to offer programming that drives students' well-being. The role will engage with college departments and academic faculty to enhance offerings that lead to student retention and success. In addition, the Director leads strategies designed to meet the changing needs of an increasingly diverse population of students and brings expertise, while working collaboratively with others across the campus community. This role helps to advance student retention and completion initiatives, and student affairs goals that empower and strengthen student learning and success.
Qualifications:
- Education
- A master's degree in psychology, counseling, student affairs administration, higher and/or student affairs experience required.
- Licensed as: LCSW or licensed clinical psychologist, or eligible LCSW or LCPC in Illinois is preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in higher education to include two (2) years in a leadership role required. Three (3) years of counseling experience, preferably in a higher education setting required.
- Demonstrated success in administration and/or student affairs, and experience with traditional, adult and non-traditional learners required.
- Dynamic leadership and excellent communication skills required.
- Flexibility with the ability to be a collaborative team player required.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, outcome based education and sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population required.
- Required to be skilled in articulating and implementing collaborative models of service, and a strong commitment to creating equitable and inclusive campus environments, systems, programs, and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and colleagues.
- Expertise in serving a counseling department within a complex and diverse campus preferred.
- Experience working with faculty in a union environment preferred.
- Computer, printer, copier, scanner, calculator and phone. (move to working conditions)
- MS Office software including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Visio. (move to working conditions)
Pay grade: 14/ Starting salary beginning at $97,373, based on education and experience.
Competitive starting salaries are dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
