Major/Essential Functions
Marketing & Communications is searching for a highly creative and strategic Digital Designer to conceptualize and execute a variety of design projects in support of our enrollment marketing efforts across broad audiences. The tasks include creating digital assets for our website, social media platforms, email campaigns and other online marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong understanding of design principles, responsive design and can translate marketing and content needs into solutions that solve client challenges. The role of the Digital Designer is to deliver innovative, user-friendly design solutions that enhance the Texas Tech University brand and engage our audiences.
- Craft compelling design assets, such as ad sets and landing pages, that are backed by data to drive improvement of digital marketing KPIs.
- Produce motion graphics and basic short-form video cutdowns optimized for social media advertising, including LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
- Edit existing video assets into high-performing ad units tailored to platform specifications, aspect ratios and attention spans.
- Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to align motion creative with audience insights and campaign goals.
- Maintain brand consistency across all static, motion and video assets while adapting creatively to different audience segments and platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and client teams to understand business goals, target audience, and additional data points to help with the creation of A/B tests and data driven designs.
- Conduct user research, usability testing and heat mapping analysis to gather insights and validate design decisions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal four years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual design or equivalent of 2-3 years of experience.
- 2-3 years' experience in graphic/visual design, with a focus on online, social and digital.
- One year of experience with motion graphics.
Pay Range
$23.08 - $30.63 - $37.69
