Position Description
Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations. Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems. Administers employee performance management, corrective action, termination, and leave programs. Address employee relations issues, such as work complaints or other employee concerns. Mediates workplace disputes.

About the Department and/or College
In Employee Relations, we meet with employees and campus leaders, listen to their concerns, and work together to develop solutions.

Major/Essential Functions
Every day you will:
  • Meet with and coach employees to help them overcome problems affecting their job performance or professional relationships in the workplace.
  • Rely on your expertise to proactively develop and implement employee relations practices, policies, and programs that support a high-performance campus culture by establishing clear expectations, providing feedback, and encouraging productive behavior.
  • Use your expert knowledge to explain university policies and procedures as well as employment laws, often conferring with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures.
  • Think critically to provide feedback and solutions to the Human Resources staff and collaborate with the Senior Director and Associate Director.
  • Work on getting better by focusing on your professional development by staying up-to-date on all federal, state, and university-related laws, policies, and procedures.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, management, human resources or related field. Three years related experience. OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years.

Pay Range
$21.39 - $27.84 - $34.23
