JOB TITLE:
Office Associate, Senior
JOB PURPOSE:
To serve as a support specialist in UW's College of Education in matters related to placement and supervision of preservice teachers.
Perform complex administrative/management support tasks with discretionary authority; administratively supervise comprehensive office operations and support staff for department/unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Placement Coordinator in making field placements for practicum and Residency experiences, including those for the COST program, as needed. Contact district superintendents, HR representatives, and/or building principals as needed to arrange field placements. International field placement through the Consortium of Overseas Student Teaching (COST) placements are made through the COST network, but need to be finalized and recorded in the UW student teaching data management system.
- Arrange classroom and edTPA supervisors for all student teachers. Depending on the field placement site, contact existing classroom and edTPA supervisors to make arrangements, or seek new supervisors for the student teachers. Provide relevant details on the duties, expectations, and renumeration for the services.
- Train and maintain regular communication with field supervisors. Prior to semester start, provide training materials and experiences through email, Zoom meetings, and online modules with detailed expectations and data collection processes. This includes reviewing observation protocols, data reporting, and student support processes when concerns are raised. Throughout the semester maintain contact with supervisors to follow through on data reporting, share timelines and reminders, and respond to questions that arise.
- Maintain database of field placements and supervision pairings in collaboration with Placement Coordinator and Associate Dean. Use this system to communicate all arrangements with student teachers, their mentor teachers, and their supervisors.
- Assist the Placement Coordinator in creating and processing agreements with non-Wyoming school districts.
- Coordinate field placement arrangements, including addressing practicum and Residency issues as they arise, with the Placement Coordinator and the Associate Director of Student Teaching.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree
Experience: 1 year progressively responsible work-related experience
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in the essential duties. Knowledge of Banner, WyoCloud, and/or any other systems used at the University of Wyoming.
