Position Summary:
This position provides leadership and oversight for the design of all technical and operational functions of the hospital-based simulations. The role is responsible for managing simulation technologies, simulation software, equipment maintenance, operational staff, and facility resources to support high-quality educational, clinical, and research activities. This includes low to high fidelity patient simulators and Elsevier generated simulation cases using Standardized Patients and Standardized Technical Communicators. This position collaborates with faculty, administrators, and external partners to ensure effective delivery of simulation-based learning experiences while maintaining compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
Salary & Benefits:
Minimum starting salary of $70,000, commensurate with experience.
Primary Duties:
1. Manage day-to-day operations of the hospital simulation suite.
2. Supervise and delegate to the Simulation Technology Assistant Manager and Simulation Technologist and Educator.
3. Supervise the Standardized Technical Communicators Program, including hiring, training, tracking hours worked, and evaluation.
4. Manage simulation inventory system, equipment, software systems, and hospital suite rooms.
5. Work to continuously improve operational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
6. Develop equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate equipment replacement plans.
7. Coordinate the simulation calendar, event setup, and execution of simulation events.
8. Support faculty and community partners in simulation design, programming, and implementation.
9. Monitor budgets and oversee procurement of simulation equipment and supplies.
10. Evaluate emerging simulation technologies and recommend improvements for all disciplines.
11. Generate operational reports and utilization of metrics.
12. Participate in accreditation, long-range planning and strategic initiatives.
13. Provides instruction for Basic Life Support courses offered through the Simulation Center.
14. Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Masters in Nursing and/or Eight or more (8+) years' experience in simulation.
- Five or more (5+) years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience in clinical, simulation operations and/or healthcare technology.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate multiple tasks, good organizational skills, exhibit flexibility in work schedule and job tasks; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, job contacts, and students.
- Knowledge of:
o Laerdal, CAE, Gaumard, or similar simulation platforms
o Learning management systems
o AV capture and debriefing systems
o Networking and computer systems - Healthcare simulation best practices.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong clinical nursing skills, knowledge of nursing laboratory equipment.
- Excel, Word, and Outlook competence required.
- Must have or obtain certification to become a Certified American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor upon hire.
- Certified Health Simulation Educator (CHSE) or ability to obtain within two years of hire.
- Understanding of simulation operations and best practices, healthcare education environments, audiovisual and debriefing technologies, project management principles, and budget management.
- Staff supervision and leadership.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, communicate effectively with faculty, clinicians, administrators, and students, troubleshoot complex technical issues develop strategic initiatives and operational plans and foster collaborative relationships across academic and healthcare settings.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in higher education and healthcare environments.
- Experience with hospital-based simulation programs.
- Experience managing simulation center accreditation activities.
- Experience with capital equipment planning and budgeting.
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)

Working Conditions:
