Position Summary
The Senior Department Administrator will serve as a member of the Department of Pharmacy Practice executive leadership team and will offer strategic administrative support and oversight to the administrative operations of the department. The person should be a self-directed professional who will perform tasks and responsibilities aimed at maximizing the operations of the department. The ideal candidate is one who: is energetic, enthusiastic and positive in his/her approach to work; has outstanding verbal/written communication skills and works effectively with others; is organized and detail-oriented; demonstrates problem-solving skills and an ability to reach conclusions independently; and, is able to set goals, prioritize, multi-task, and use time effectively. Core responsibilities include:
- Leadership: Serve on the department's Executive Committee advise the Chair and other Executive Committee members and provide strategic thinking regarding departmental administration/operations.
- Supervision: Serve as a direct supervisor to all staff within the department. This includes but is not limited to development of performance plans, provision of annual performance reviews, development of professional development plans for staff, workforce planning, oversight of telecommuting arrangements, and approval of timesheets.
- Finance and Budget: Develop and advise the chair on the annual department budget. Utilize Uplan in the completion of the Department of Pharmacy Practice yearly budget process. Oversee fiscal operations for the department and divisions including the management of all funding sources(State, UBF, and RF).
- Administrative Support: Maintain the Chair's calendar; coordinate annual performance reviews for faculty; coordinate promotion and tenure reviews; and provide support to the department's faculty development and mentoring programs.
- Operations: Coordinate/execute day-to-day operations of the department; coordinate recruitment; manage monthly department meetings; oversee purchasing and management/reconciliation of the department's credit card; create/manage Memorandums of Understanding and affiliation agreements; and event planning.
The Department Administrator works closely with the SPPS Dean's Office, particularly in matters related to resource planning including financial reporting and projections, budget development, workforce planning and developing and implementing school and university policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience or master's degree or professional certification with 1 year of experience.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
Physical Demands
Salary Range
$68,068 - 85,085
