(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.  

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

 

Serves as a coach within the KSU Catalyst Coaching Program, partnering with faculty and staff participants to support their personal and professional development. Facilitates individualized coaching conversations that promote self-awareness, goal attainment, leadership growth, and meaningful contributions to the university community. Contributes to advancing a coaching culture at Kennesaw State University by guiding participants through a structured coaching engagement process that helps translate insight into action. Empowers individuals to identify growth opportunities, develop actionable strategies, enhance effectiveness, and achieve sustained personal and professional success.

Responsibilities

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Provides individualized coaching support to a minimum of three assigned participants during each semester-long coaching engagement.
2. Conducts a 30-minute introductory meeting with each participant to establish rapport, clarify expectations, and prepare for the coaching process.
3. Facilitates six one-hour coaching sessions for each assigned participant, supporting progress toward established development goals.
4. Conducts a follow-up coaching session (30-60 minutes) approximately three to six months after the completion of the coaching engagement to assess progress and reinforce ongoing development.
5. Prepares for coaching sessions by reviewing participant goals, assessment results, preparation forms, and other relevant coaching materials.
6. Participates in monthly coach check-ins and communities of practice to support professional development, collaboration, and program effectiveness.
7. Completes the required annual program orientation and training activities.
8. Maintains compliance with all program policies, coaching ethics, confidentiality requirements, and standards established by Kennesaw State University.

Required Qualifications

 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.

Other Required Qualifications
Professional coaching certification (ICF, Gallup Strengths Coach, Co-Active, or similar)
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Three (3) years of professional experience in higher education, leadership, human resources, organizational development, talent development, counseling, coaching, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Demonstrated experience coaching professionals in higher education, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, or related settings.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

 

ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

SKILLS
Strong listening, questioning, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
