About the Department and/or College
The Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics is a nationally recognized research facility with expertise in pulsed power and high voltage technologies. The research center hosts more than 60 undergraduate and graduate student researchers, 7 full time staff, and 7 faculty.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Contribute to the development, fabrication, and operation of experimental systems to meet the research needs of the Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics.
  • Lead data collection and documentation efforts and support the Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics in reporting to external sponsors.
  • Coordinate with a broad range of research stakeholders, including undergraduate and graduate students, technicians, machinists, and research staff, and faculty, as well as external research partners.
  • Support day-to-day facility operations in the Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years experience; or a combination of education and/or related experience to equal six years.

Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the Department of Defense. This includes having U.S. citizenship and undergoing a background check and fingerprint clearance process by a separate agency.

This position is designated as involving access to critical infrastructure systems and/or research, as defined by Texas Executive Order GA-48. As such, candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. Employees are required to comply with all applicable state and federal regulations related to the protection of critical infrastructure. Ongoing employment is dependent upon maintaining eligibility for access and successfully passing periodic security and compliance reviews.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in working on projects and meeting deliverables with the typical limitations in time and budget
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems


Pay Range
$40,500 - $52,600 - $64,800
