Position Summary
The Department of Surgery within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), is seeking a highly qualified Thoracic Surgeon. This position will be based at our major affiliated teaching hospitals, with an appointment at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level. Rank will commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing thoracic surgery services and will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient-centered care.
Overall duties include:
The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing thoracic surgery services and will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient-centered care.
Overall duties include:
- Serving as attending physician for inpatient thoracic surgery care services
- Providing consultation, treatment, and follow-up for thoracic surgery patients
- Teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students
- Engaging in clinical and basic science research, as well as participating in clinical trials that promote advancements in thoracic surgery

Minimum Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery
- Fellowship training in Thoracic Surgery
