Job Summary

The Neural Plasticity Rehabilitation and Movement Dynamics (NERD) Lab is looking to hire a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to understand the mechanisms of motor recovery and develop novel interventions to improve arm and hand function in individuals post-stroke. This is a full-time on-site role for a Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Utah Health in Salt Lake City, UT. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for recruiting human subjects, collecting and analyzing human biomechanical, neurophysiological, and clinical data. The role involves collaborating with academic partners and contributing to ongoing research projects.

This is a one-year contract that is renewable based on the availability of funds and performance.

Funding is expected to be available for at least 4 years.

Responsibilities
1. Preferable experience in examining neurophysiology (electromyography, non-invasive brain stimulation, spinal reflexes), neuroimaging (DTI, fMRI), and motor control (kinematics, kinetics)2. Strong background in Data Analysis and Signal Processing3. Strong writing skills4. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical engineering/neuroscience/motor control/kinesiology5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills6. Ability to work effectively in a team setting7. Strong communication and presentation skills8. Flexibility in scheduling work hours around patients schedule, as rates of recruitment span and fluctuate across the calendar year9. Must be able to work independently while exhibiting a level of judgment that ensures participant safety and adherence to study protocols and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
